1. let's start with the obvious, is "THE OTCN" a job?
Well it depends on what you call a job, if your definition of a JOB is like millions of others who have been tricked into thinking trading time for money based on a hourly wage is a JOB then NO it's not a job. But if your of the mindset that the self employed, independent contractors, and entrepreneurs share: anything constrewed as work for compensation weather it be commission, salary, or hourly, then "THE OTCN" is just that, a job! You pick where you fit in!
2. Is OTCN legit?
Yes and NO. I know that sounds funny but let me explain, Yes they have a legit OPPORTUNITY, not a JOB, in fact they're rated in the BBB unfortunatly BBB gives them an F.
The fact is they're commission based, they call it "performanced based salary" this leads me into why they're not legit within their ads they claim to be paying a base salary of $200 - $400 per week plus commissions and bonuses (depending on which ad you see) which to the traditional JOB seekers means they will make $400 per week (depending on the ad) plus commission and bonuses. the fact is there is no base salary it all just commission again for the traditional JOB seekers this is totally missleading for those of us who see the value is performance based compensation, it is still missleading! They would be better off just telling it like it is we: the self employed, independent contractors, and entrepreneurs would be fine with performance based compensation/"salary" and the job seekers would feel so violated.
3. What do they sell/do?
This is the crazy part in which I both admire and despise. OTCN states they are hiring for Recruiting Specialist, a position that requires a background check, they say its for the companies they are involved with and they will always mentioned that the companies they are involved with are "Fortuned 500 Companies" well thats kind of true ( not all the companies they are involved with are fortune 500 companies infact most of the companies wouldnt make Forbs Fortune 100,000 companies but they do have a few fortune 500 with them. Now lets see HOW these companies are with OTCN.... there NOT, these companise are partnered with a company called My Cash Freebies this is the company that actually pays OTCN here's how, OTCN and possible you (optional) place ads, prospect answers ad and calls OTCN that prospect is placed in a dialer system and gets rotated to you, you read script (adaquate) and you sell them on becoming a rep like you, at the end of the script you will inform the prospect there is a background check and the cost is $35.00 which the prospect is responsible for the prospect will either say yes or no if they say yes then you help them fill out the online application and prompt them to pay for the background check via paypal to OTCN. you will receive a $12.00 commission (paid weekly) if you can sign up 6 in a week they will pay you an additional $28.00 for a total of $100.00 anything under 6 applications is a straight $12.00. Okay now the interesting part if the prospect states no then you will present a 2nd option that will cost the prospect anything from $1.00 - $10.00 by signing up for free trials (or minimal fee trials) from "Fortune 500 Companies" like netflix, esperian, gamefly ect... and remember My Cash Freebies well thats where they come in prospect will sign up with My Cash Freebies and complete anywhere from 2-5 offers in which you the rep will receive a 50 - 50 split (not there words mine after doing the math) which will total $35.00 if all offers are completed. This made me questioned if a background check is actually being done and if it is does it really cost 35.00 lets look at it logically, first the background check: (a) if it's 35.00 then how can they pay you 12.00? it is obviously less then $35.00 (b) if you have the prospect signing up for cash freebies then the commission is $ 70.00 with $35.00 going to you as commission againg if the background check is really $35.00 then where is the profit for the company?
Again what do they sell background checks and My Cash Freebies BTW.. you can join My Cash Freebies yourself place and ad in craigslist and keep 100% of the profits I personally use My Cash Freebies as well as ZNZ and znz pays out $100.00 for the same amount of signup as My Cash Freebies
So Yes I admire the system OTCN came up with and I despise the marketing tactics they deploy bottom line they feed of the desperation of those needing a traditional job and are not truthful about the fact that there is no salary.
Hope this helps!!
